Connecting Organizations, Building Community

Merit's Members work collaboratively with us and our community in developing and providing advanced networking services to the research and education community. For 40 years, Merit has been a trusted source for providing and managing a high-quality network infrastructure and providing knowledge and technology transfer to Michigan and beyond.

Merit is different from other network providers because our constituency is different. The needs of research and education institutions drive Merit's network infrastructure design. Research and education institutions invest in advanced technical infrastructure and services, such as Merit provides, because of their potential. In fact, these institutions have generally applied advanced networking capabilities long before there is interest or demand in the private sector, and well before the services are fully mature or well understood.

It is the community of Merit's Members that make Merit and its achievements possible. We welcome you to learn more about our community and look forward to your involvement and contributions as we continue to push the boundaries of educational networking.
